Current fishing report for Lakes Entrance, Lake Tyers, Mitchell River, Tambo River, Nicholson, Metung, Paynesville, Holland's Landing, Marlo, Bemm River, Tamboon Inlet, Mallacoota, and Omeo High Country.
Lakes Entrance
Salmon are chasing metal lures around the lakes system, while prawns are still plentiful. Whiting are behind Flannigan Island biting on live sandworm and pippis. Lake Bunga beach is offering decent sized salmon and snapper. Offshore for flathead and gummy.
Lake Tyers
The system is still experiencing great fishing and prawning, with good sized flathead being landed on soft plastics. Bream are taking vibration blades and tailor are chasing pilchards.
Mitchell River
Garfish are around the Butter Factory, bream off the Silt Jetties and in the lake, mullet can be found around the river mouth and The Cut biting on live sandworm and local prawn. Bass are also in the river.
Tambo River
Good catches of prawn are still around, give Tambo Bay a try.
For bream try from Punt Road to the river mouth, using live sandworm and local prawn.
Nicholson
Try around the mouth of the river using local prawn and live
sandworm.
Metung
Mullaway are being caught from the boardwalk, with the odd
kingfish as well biting on lures.
Paynesville/Holland’s Landing
Larger bream can be found off Hollands Landing and in Newlands Arm chasing live sandworm and local prawn. Prawns are still active around The Barrier and Raymond Island.
Marlo
Flathead, whiting and bream are in the system, biting on fresh prawn and sandworm. Salmon and the odd mulloway are being landed off the beach.
Bemm River
Bream and perch are in the river. Flathead are chasing soft
plastics.
Mallacoota
Give Sandy Point, Gypsy Point and Fisherman's Pier a go. As for
baits try, soft plastics, minnows, fresh prawn and surface lures. For off the beach angling try Tip Beach. Looking for gummies offshore, give between the Two Islands a try.
High Country
Reminder upcoming closed season: Rivers are closed from
Queen's Birthday weekend (June) to the first weekend in September. Weather conditions in the High Country can still be unpredictable even at this time of year, please check the local forecast and inform someone of your journey.
