Report

Lakes Entrance

Early morning and late afternoon in the shallows across the Footbridge in the Cunninghame Arm for trevally taking soft plastics. King George whiting are around Fraser Island and the Nungurner area on pippies and worm. Offshore at Six Mile Reef and the Pipeline for pinkies and snapper, closer to the beach for gummies and flathead.

Lake Tyers

Bream and flathead are at Devils Hole toward the top end of the Nowa Nowa Arm. The surf beach for salmon on blue bait and lures. In deep water at the Green House for pinkies taking prawn.

 

Mitchell River

The Backwater, the Highway Bridge and to Grassy Banks for bream taking prawn, worm and hard bodied lures.

 

Tambo River

Bream are at the Highway Bridge and up to The Cliffs. Best results on prawn, worm and yabbies.

Nicholson

From the 2nd Fence, The Reeds and up towards the Poplars are the best spots for bream, bait of choice being shrimp, worm and prawn.

 

Metung

The town jetty is producing King George whiting and bream with shrimp for best results.

Paynesville

Prawns are on the move with some flathead about.  Bream are at the Grassy Banks area on prawn, worm and hard bodied lures.

Holland’s Landing

The Strait and the Eel Farm for bream on worm and prawn. Point Wilson for flathead on worm and prawn. The surf is producing gummies and salmon on pilchard, squid and poppers.

Marlo

Luderick around the groynes on worm, Salmon and tailor at the entrance. Bream are about the system taking worm, prawn and black crab. From the Marlo jetty to French’s Narrow for flathead taking lures. Offshore for gummies and flathead. Bronzies and gummies have been active at the surf beaches.

Bemm River

In the river and lake for luderick taking worm and local prawn. Flathead on prawn and pilchard. The surf for salmon on pilchard and poppers.

Tamboon Inlet

The river mouth for bream on prawn and worm. Peters Rock for trevally and pinkies on pilchard and blue bait.

Mallacoota

The surf is producing salmon on pilchard and poppers. The Top and Bottom Lakes are fishing well with bream, flathead and some tailor on pilchard and lures. Fisheries and Main Wharves for luderick on weed.

Omeo High Country

Some well needed rain to help improve the fishing, but the Mitta Mitta is the best spot for trout using worm and lures, also try soft plastics.
