Lakes Entrance

Juvenile Salmon are around the entrance on lures. Trevally are about Myers Street Jetty, best bait pilchard. The surf for Salmon. Offshore at Six Mile Reef for Pinkies.

Lake Tyers

The best spots for Bream, Tailor and Pinkies are Mill Point, Gully Road Boat Ramp, Blackfellows Arm and the Nowa Nowa Arm. Best results using prawn, white bait and pilchard.


Mitchell River

Perch are at the Butter Factory and the highway bridge taking lures. Bream are about The Cut and heading towards the river mouth. Best baits being spider crab, local prawn and lures.


Tambo River

From the Lucerne Paddock, Whelan’s and Marshall Flats and The Three Gums for Bream using prawn and sandworm.



Plenty of Juvenile Bream around the two bridges on prawn and plastics. Some odd Flathead from the railway bridge and up to The Car Bodies on vibes and soft plastics.


The Boardwalk has Juvenile Flathead. Best spot for Whiting is Shaving Point with worm as preferred bait.


The town jetties and structures are good hiding spots for Bream taking peeled prawn, drifting baits and crab style lures. Some Whiting are about towards Metung area on pipis and worm.

Holland’s Landing

The shallow banks around Loch Sport has Flathead on soft plastics and prawn as preferred bait.


Lake Curlip is producing nice Bream using frozen prawn and spider crab. The surf for Salmon on pilchard and poppers. Offshore for Flathead and Gummies taking squid and pilchard.

Bemm River

The Channel is producing Tailor with trolling lures. Bream are about the lake with sandworm and prawn for best results. The entrance is still closed.


Tamboon Inlet

Egan’s Bank is worth a try for Pinkies. The Peachtree and boat ramp for Bream with fresh prawn and worm. Try the Mud Point area in the shallows for Flathead.


In the Wallagaraugh and Genoa Rivers for Bream, Luderick and Flathead taking prawn. The Bottom Lake for Flathead on lures. Salmon and Tailor on the incoming tide taking lures. Bream in the Top Lake taking yabbies as the best bait.


Omeo High Country

The Mitta Mitta is the best for Trout on worm. The other rivers have very little water.
